Legal Procurement Reviews
The challenge for all enterprises is to stay relevant to their customers and ahead of their competitors. Managing legal advice can at its best be a key strategic contributor in achieving this: at its worst a source of expense, frustration and inefficiency.
For larger organisations, we provide strategic analysis of their entire legal procurement processes and costs. These reviews result in our clients reducing their legal spend and developing lean, transparent and structured internal procurement processes and controls.

- We analyse the client’s historical legal spend in terms of law firms used, rates charged, areas of law advised upon
- We review the circumstances relating to that spend and their internal procurement controls and processes.
- We advise on the reasonableness of fees charged, the approach taken by the lawyers, merits of using those lawyers in the future with recommendations as to alternative providers, improved fee rates and improvements that could be made in the management of the entire legal procurement process.
- We work with the client’s legal and/or management team to ensure that the agreed recommendations and changes are implemented smoothly and effectively.

"The review that KCL undertook of certain areas of our legal procurement was detailed and thorough. Its findings and recommendations were practical and, in some cases, innovative and KCL has assisted me in implementing a number of reforms arising out of it."
