Analysing internal process and finding more efficient ways to resource needs is as important as controlling external spend itself. We support in house teams:

• Auditing their in-house processes (mainly around better use of internal knowhow and the development of standard documents and procedures), providing efficiency recommendations and implementation assistance; this allows clients to in source more work, pushing out the point at which they need to instruct external Counsel;
• By liaising with their external advisers to identify ways in which they can provide specific support for particular types of work; for instance, generating standard term sheets and guidance notes for dealing with sub-contractors or guidance notes/training for other departments on specific areas of legal risk;
• In conducting efficiency audits of their external legal advisers’ processes: there are still significant inefficiencies in many law firms’ working practices which are unlikely to be addressed without a degree of client pressure. Our team is well placed to identify these inefficiencies and to help firms put appropriate processes in place, generating savings for our clients.
